Shuttle changes for winter break and University holidays

Reduced shuttle service to River Campus will begin on Monday, December 23. Medical Center shuttles—Corporate Woods, evening staff shuttle, and Lot 24-Scottsville Road—will operate according to their regular schedules during Winter Break. There will be no shuttle service for any University shuttle routes on December 25 and January 1 due to University holidays.

Parking Office at Strong Memorial Hospital Garage: Open 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on December 25 and January 1.
Parking Management Center (Goler House): Closing at 2 p.m. on December 24 and 31. Closed December 25 and January 1.

Jan 2: Valet Service Resumes at Strong Memorial Hospital

Starting on Thurs., January 2, 2025, Valet Parking service will resume at the main entrance of Strong Memorial Hospital for patients and visitors. Vehicles may be dropped off weekdays between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m., and vehicle pick-up will be available 24 hours a day. The cost is $8 per car (cash or credit).

Ship packages at Campus Mail Center in Todd Union

Visit the Campus Mail Center (CMC) this holiday season to get your packages where they need to go. Choose from domestic and international shipping services through USPS, UPS, and FedEx, and find supplies for purchase, including forever stamps in seasonal designs. Mail packages as early as possible so they can make their way to their destination in a timely manner. CMC is conveniently located in the lower level of Todd Union. Dec 11 & 18: Lot 24 Shuttle Schedule Change for Good Night Lights

On Wednesday, Dec. 11 and Wednesday, Dec. 18, from 6 p.m. to 6:45 p.m., there will be no Scottsville shuttle pickups on Crittenden Blvd. at Golisano Children’s Hospital or Crittenden Circle. During this time, the shuttle will temporarily reroute to Elmwood Ave., stopping at the School of Medicine at 6:18 and 6:48 p.m., before resuming its regular 7:11 p.m. pickup on Crittenden Blvd. at Golisano.

The temporary adjustment supports the Good Night Lights event, where first responders shine their lights to say “goodnight” to pediatric patients watching from the windows of Golisano Children’s Hospital tower.

Nov. 8-10: Parking Impacted in Back Area of Lot 8

On Friday, November 8, starting at 2 p.m., and continuing through Sunday, November 10, parking in the back area of Lot 8-MRB will be unavailable to accommodate crane operations for a new air handling unit installation on the roof of the Strong Behavioral Health building. These spaces will reopen on Sunday once the work is completed.

- Swan Street and Scio St. South entrances and exits will be closed.
Wed., November 13:
- East Main St. and Scio St. North entrances and exits will be closed.

Beginning Nov. 8: Hospital Garage Cleaning and Maintenance

The Strong Memorial Hospital Garage will be cleaned and undergo maintenance over two weekends. Parkers can expect brief interruptions to entrance access and parking during these times and locations:

Friday, November 8 at noon through Sunday, November 10:
- East Drive entrance and floors 2, 4, and 6 will be closed. Jackson Drive and South Drive entrances will remain open.
Friday, November 15 at 3 p.m. through Sunday, November 17:
- Jackson Drive entrance, South Drive entrance, and floors G, 1, 3, and 5 will be closed. East Drive entrance will remain open.

Signage will be placed on roadways directing parkers to available entrances. Staff is encouraged to park in College Town Garage to leave space for patients and visitors.

Gear up for winter biking

Interested in biking through the winter months? Join the Winter Biking class to learn about essential equipment for riding in snow and rain. This 15-minute online session takes place on Wednesday, November 13, from noon to 12:15 p.m. via Zoom. Registration is required. This is the last session in a monthly series presented by the Department of Transportation and Logistics.

October 19 and 20: Lot 3 Closed for Line Striping

On Sat., October 19 and Sun., Oct. 20, Lot 3 will be closed for line striping. The current parking lines have faded, and this project will re-stripe the existing layout to brighten and improve the visibility of the parking spaces. During this time, alternate parking is available in Lot 12-Crittenden Reserved.
